Daily Lift: God Will Make Good On His Promises!
Deuteronomy 10:11
11 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, begin your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’
Has God promised you or your parents something you haven’t seen yet? Has it made you wonder if God has forgotten you, or worse yet, is not going to make good on His promises?
Waiting for God to deliver what He has told you is coming is difficult even on your best days. Looking around at where you are, knowing there is more, or that you should be somewhere else, doing something very different from what you do now, is challenging. It can open the door to fear, doubt, and unbelief, which then brings torment from the enemy. He says things to you like, “Are you sure God said that?” “Did God forget you?” “You are never going to be any better off or go anywhere. Who do you think you are?”
It is in those times that going back to what God said to you is imperative. The enemy comes to challenge your identity in Christ, which is attached to your inheritance and your calling. If he can get you to wonder about what God promised, then he has already won the battle for your mind. Reading God’s promises, whether to yourself or out loud, you are drawn to imagine the things to come. When you are assured that God is the same today, tomorrow, and the next day, you can rest in knowing that God will do what He said He would in HIS time, which we should want, for His timing is perfect, always perfect.
This is what I know: It is in my times of waiting for God’s promises to manifest before me that the enemy taunts me into doubting what God has shown me. When I go back to what God wrote to me or told me, reading it aloud, letting my soul hear as well as my heart and mind, the vision comes alive again, and I renew my strength to keep moving forward into the Promised Land despite the giants.
God is not wishy-washy, changing His mind about His plans for you. He is constant, never wavers, and if He said He will do something, HE WILL DO IT! It may not be on our time table, but as Habakkuk 2:2-3 states,” Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
If you haven’t seen God’s promises for you yet, it is because it is not time for you to. He has not forgotten about you; on the contrary, He is on the throne, making sure it will show up exactly at the time HE HAS DEEMED IT!
