Daily Lift: Will You Enter Your Promised Land?

Deuteronomy 10:11

11 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, begin your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

noun: journey: an act of traveling from one place to another.

Journeys don’t always have to be physical travel from one place to another… You can move from one perspective to another, take an emotional healing trip, or mature in your Christian walk. No matter what type of journey you have taken, it is YOURS to take……..or not.

The Israelites had the choice to go in and possess the land God had sworn to give them, but they chose to see themselves as defeated by the giants of the land. They quit before the fighting ever started…..because they had “seen” themselves as crickets, unable to kill the giants.

How many times have you stopped short of all that God has planned for you because you can’t “see” what He is saying to you or describing from His point of view? I am sure that when I get to heaven, I am going to kick myself when I see all I could have done had I been able to envision myself as God saw me at that time.

“Not good enough,” “You can’t do that,” “Who do you think you are?” “God doesn’t want to give you that,” “God will use someone who is way more together than you are”……. How many times have you heard that voice in your head? Any time you hear that kind of discouragement and doubt, it is not from your heavenly Father, but from the Father of all lies, the enemy of your soul.

This is what I know: I am not perfect, nor have I arrived, but I am God’s creation, made for such a time as this, to do what He wills for me to do. How do I accomplish that? By taking a journey from what the world has told me about myself, and exchanging it for what God says about me in His Word. When I can see myself through my Father’s eyes, I can see the possibilities of the impossible……for in my own strength I am powerless. Still, with His strength, I can do all things……even those things that seem over the top, outrageously far-fetched, and beyond my capabilities.

If there is one thing I would want you to learn, it is that God not only made you, but He doesn’t make junk. God doesn’t waste anything; His timing is perfect, and if He has told you that you are going to possess the land, whatever that “land”/vision is for you, even with the giants looming in the distance, you WILL possess the land.

If you do what you can do, God will do what only He can… Had the Israelites trusted God to continue in the miracles they had already experienced, they would have lived to see what they had been delivered from Egypt for… Will you enter into YOUR Promised Land?
